Randall Reed’s Planet Lincoln in Spring, Texas is proud to support and help make an 11-year-old boy’s birthday wish to help others come true. Planet Lincoln has a collection bin in the new Lincoln showroom at the front desk to collect non-perishable food donations now through October 31st.
Donations collected will be provided to Matthew, a wonderful young man who started this ongoing birthday wish when he was 8 years old (going on nine).
How to Help!
This years wish is to create 750 packets and feed over a 100 families in Conroe ISD this Thanksgiving Holiday! Let’s help him! Bring in canned foods, peanut butter, etc. Please do not bring perishable or glass items.
How it Began:
“In 2015… I decided that instead of getting presents for my birthday, I wanted to give to others. I created a project where I collected small snack items and food items with easy pop-top lids and placed them in a gallon ziploc baggie to distribute to the less fortunate. My goal was to collect enough items to make 50 bags, but with the help of friends, family and the community, I collected enough items to make 338 baggies that held 14 food items, a bottle of water/juice, a fork, a spoon, a napkin and a mint. I also collected 10 boxes of food that weren’t good for the baggies, but they would still help feed someone in need,” Matthew shared on his website.
“After the baggies were made, my family and I delivered them to the Star of Hope Mission for the Homeless in Houston. The items that wouldn’t work for the baggies went to the Star of Hope Kitchen to use for meals, and the baggies went to Mr. Ken who drives around Houston getting to know the homeless to try and help get them to come to the Star of Hope and off of the street. They gave us a tour and talked about what they do, and who my donations would help. It made me very happy to know that all of my hard work would help others,” he added.
So while Matthew is very young, he is already wise enough to know that giving to others less fortunate was the greatest gift. “My birthday wish is to help provide meals for the less fortunate,” he said. “I have all I need so I want to give to others to celebrate my birthday!”
We invite you to help us help Matthew celebrate the spirit of giving by dropping your donations at our Planet Ford location. You can learn more by visiting MatthewsBirthdayWish.com. To learn more about Planet Lincoln in Spring, log onto www.PlanetLincoln.com.

It comes as no surprise to our team at Randall Reed’s Planet Lincoln in Spring, Texas (serving The Woodlands, Cypress, Aldine, Conroe, Houston) that the all-new Lincoln Continental’s earned a top safety pick award.
The luxury sedan, available Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection system, garnered the highest award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) due to its available crash prevention system, along with the good rating achieved on crash tests and its optional adaptive LED headlamps.
The Lincoln Continental (with Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection) avoided collisions in track tests at 12 mph and 25 mph. The system’s forward collision warning component also meets National Highway Traffic Safety Administration criteria.
The car’s available adaptive LED headlamps earned a good rating, providing ample lighting on a straightaway and on most curves. The headlamps use high-beam assist, a feature that automatically switches between high beams and low beams, depending on the presence of other vehicles.
Vehicles qualify for a Top Safety Pick+ if they have good ratings in five crashworthiness tests – small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints – plus an available front crash prevention system that earns a superior or advanced rating, and good or acceptable headlights. The Lincoln Continental delivered on all aspects. For more information, please visit http://www.iihs.org/iihs/news.

They go deeper into the heart of the ownership experience.”
This is the 21st anniversary of AutoPacific, which identifies the most satisfying vehicles based on survey responses from more than 54,000 owners of new 2016 and 2017 cars and light trucks.
“Our lineup of new vehicles and personalized ownership privileges is making a difference for our clients,” said Kumar Galhotra, president, The Lincoln Motor Company. “It’s changing the luxury experience.”

At Randall Reed’s Planet Lincoln in Spring on I-45, we know that you and your family’s safety is paramount. That’s why we are proud to share the news that the 2017 Lincoln MKZ and Lincoln MKX have been named top safety picks by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in their respective categories:
Lincoln MKZ, Midsize Luxury Car Winner*
Lincoln MKX, Midsize Luxury SUV Winner*
The IIHS conducts tests to determine a vehicles crashworthiness, meaning how well the vehicle protects its occupants in a crash. In addition, the test also rates a vehicle for front-crash prevention, systems that warn the driver or brake automatically to avoid or mitigate a frontal collision. The vehicles that perform best in the tests qualify for Top Safety Pick which has been awarded since the 2006 model year, or Top Safety Pick+, which was inaugurated in 2013.
To qualify for being named a 2017 Top Safety Pick, a vehicle must earn good ratings in five crashworthiness tests – small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints – as well as a basic rating for front crash prevention, according to IIHS. Also, IIHS says, a vehicle must earn good ratings in the five crashworthiness tests and an advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention.
The new Lincoln MKX further strengthens Lincoln’s position in the midsize luxury utility segment, one of the largest luxury segments in the U.S., representing about one-quarter of the retail luxury automotive market.
The new Lincoln MKZ for 2017 combines intuitive technology, effortless performance and distinctive design to deliver an enhanced driving experience Lincoln calls quiet luxury.
The vehicles are available with a array of driver-assist technologies. Their Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection uses camera and radar technology to monitor the vehicle’s proximity to other vehicles and pedestrians. If a potential collision is detected, the system can alert the driver with visible and audible warnings and, if needed, pre-charge the brakes and increase brake sensitivity to help provide full responsiveness.
The lane-keeping system uses a forward-facing camera to detect lane markings. It can apply steering wheel torque and alert the driver with a steering wheel vibration should sensors detect drifting.
Both vehicles are equipped with BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert uses radar sensors to alert drivers with lights in their sideview mirrors if another vehicle is detected in blind spots. When drivers are backing up, the system can detect a vehicle approaching from either side, notifying drivers with a warning light and an audible tone.
An auto hold feature keeps the car at a complete stop without the driver having to press and hold the brake pedal – making stop-and-go driving more relaxing for Lincoln owners. Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection is an available technology that can help avoid some frontal crashes or lessen the severity of such events.
Custom-built amplifier designed by Lincoln and engineered by Revel
Music is a passion point for many of our Planet Lincoln clients, so a Lincoln presence at the biggest night in music seems only natural.
The Lincoln Motor Company has announced that it is collaborating with contemporary blues singer and guitar guru Gary Clark Jr., who is starring in a new 60-second spot that will air twice during the ultimate music awards show beginning at 8 p.m. EST Feb. 12 on CBS as well as once during the red carpet pre-show. Check out the new commercial below.
This new Lincoln commercial also will feature an exclusive custom-built amplifier designed by Lincoln and engineered by Revel. The amplifier, outfitted with 12 premium Revel speakers, offers exceptional sound quality and allows each brand’s expertise to shine. Revel engineers honed the state-of-the-art technology, while design values of the 2017 Lincoln Continental are visible throughout, from the instantly recognizable grille, the wood grain and the leather to the back-lit LED Lincoln logo.
“Creating a one-of-a-kind amplifier was an original way to showcase the superior sound of the Revel audio system available in most Lincoln vehicles – and celebrate the artistry of music,” says John Emmert, group marketing manager, The Lincoln Motor Company.
One-of-a-kind sound experience
Built by brothers Ben Fargen and Jeff Earl, who have been handcrafting guitar amplifiers since 1998, the one-of-a-kind amplifier is designed to reflect the craftsmanship, quality and performance of the Lincoln Continental and the superior sound of Revel.
“In seeing the new Continental and seeing what Revel has done with their speakers, it was easy for me to say, ‘OK, we’re going to match that intensity, that quality and integrity,’” Ben Fargen says. “For us craftsmen, it’s also always about reaching a new level, about setting the bar higher than the competition, reaching deep into the framework of what Lincoln and Revel have already done and saying, ‘Where can we take it next?’”
An amplifier – utilized by a musical artist who would do it justice – seemed a natural fit.
“Revel and Lincoln were looking for something that would celebrate sound, power, rock n’ roll, all of the raw things that people love about music,” Fargen says. “I want the performance and the intensity of the Lincoln Continental to show through the first time the artist plugs into the amp.”
Synonymous with quality and accuracy, Revel is HARMAN’s most exclusive loudspeaker brand. In the 2017 Lincoln Continental, available Revel premium audio works in concert with the vehicle’s interior design and acoustics, transforming the cabin into a personal amphitheater with three distinct listening modes – stereo, audience, and onstage. The available 19-speaker Revel Ultima™ audio system uses patented Clari-Fi™ music reconstruction technology to enhance digital sources for clear, crisp, dynamic sound.
The 60-second spot starts with the Gary Clark Jr. arriving at an empty theater in the new Lincoln Continental. As the spot continues, he is standing onstage plugging his guitar into the one-of-a-kind amplifier, which takes its aesthetics from the flagship.
“To me, the Lincoln Continental represents timeless luxury – and it sounds like it looks, straight to the point classic,” he says. “This collaboration felt like a natural fit. I don’t know a guitar player who doesn’t like amps. And this one doesn’t just look amazing, it gets you the most amazing sound.”
Throughout the ad, he performs a new interpretation of his song, “The Healing.” The camera closes in on the guitar cord, which acts as a visual timeline, taking viewers through different stages of the musician’s life. “Every single memory I have, there’s a song that goes with it,” he says. “Music is the most powerful form of communication that we have, and it can be very healing if you get people on the same page and share a message.”

At Randall Reed’s Planet Lincoln in Spring, we love seeing the latest innovation for our luxury auto maker and so will auto enthusiasts. The Lincoln Navigator concept is being revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Nov. 18-27. Makes one wonder what’s next for Lincoln’s best-known vehicle – a full-size SUV..
The design concepts are always intriguing, but what could really be rolled out in the years to come. This years reveal had a design team that was inspired by luxury yachts and sailboats. This influence can be seen in everything from the vehicle’s clean, modern lines and Storm Blue exterior, to teak finishes and exquisite detailing throughout.
“Lincoln Navigator concept reinforces our commitment to give every Lincoln client what we call quiet luxury – vehicles and experiences that are elegant and effortlessly powerful,” said Kumar Galhotra, president, The Lincoln Motor Company. “Quiet luxury is what sets Lincoln apart. We’re showing fans of large SUVs how we can exceed their expectations, without being the loudest statement on the road.”
Lincoln’s most spacious interior yet – a key purchase consideration among buyers of large SUVs – is delivered with outstanding refinement in the Navigator concept. A custom wardrobe management system at the rear offers spacious organization for the savvy traveler. Six Lincoln-patented Perfect Position Seats adjust 30 ways to best support various body types. The driver’s seat includes independent deployable thigh support for maximum comfort.
Monitors on the back head restraints offer passengers Wi-Fi connectivity – allowing them to wirelessly share music and content from personal devices. In addition, Lincoln’s Revel® audio system is specially tuned for superior sound quality throughout.
The concept vehicle is equipped with several drive modes designed to improve ride and handling and allow drivers to find the experience that best suits their given terrain. Drive modes affect steering, suspension and noise levels.
A 360-degree camera and enhanced park assist features take the stress out of parallel and perpendicular parking. The system seamlessly integrates views from four cameras – creating an overhead image that allows drivers to see all around the vehicle.
Navigator concept’s Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection uses radar and camera technology to scan the road ahead. If a collision risk with a vehicle or pedestrian is detected, the system provides a warning to the driver. If the driver doesn’t respond, it can automatically apply up to full braking force to help reduce the severity of – even eliminate – some frontal collisions. A lane-keeping system vibrates the steering wheel to alert drivers straying from their lane, providing mild input to encourage them back toward the center.
Lincoln Navigator concept is accessed through distinctive power gullwing doors and deployable concertina steps. A special lighting sequence – a signature Lincoln feature – welcomes passengers for every journey.
