Equipped with a 3.7L V6 engine the Lincoln MKX delivers an impressive 305 Horsepower and 280 foot-pounds of torque, beating out the Volvo and Lexus. The Lexus RX 350 touts 270 horsepower and 248 foot pounds of torque with its 3.5L V6 engine. The Volvo XC90 falls short with its 3.2L I6 engine, delivering only 240 horsepower and 236 foot-pounds of torque.

When it comes to fuel efficiency, all three models are close but the MKX beats the RX 350’s 21 Combined Miles Per Gallon and the XC 90’s 19 Combined MPG’s with it’s impressive 22 Combined Miles Per Gallon.

Once inside, the Lexus RX 350 comes standard with a power-adjustable tilt and telescoping steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, smart key entry with push-button ignition and a nine-speaker stereo system.

Edmunds praises The 2013 Lincoln MKX interior saying it boasts a well-trimmed cabin with handsome stitching, real aluminum accents and quality materials throughout.” It also comes standard with remote start, push-button ignition, and a 10-speaker audio system with MyLincoln Touch and Sync.

Standard equipment on the base XC90 includes parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, rain-sensing windshield wipers and headlight washers and an eight-speaker stereo with satellite radio, Bluetooth and a USB port.

Engine Performance

The Lincoln MKZ has two available engines including the 3.7L V-6 engine producing 300 Horsepower and 278 foot-pounds of torque.The Lexus ES-350, comes in second, with 268 horsepower and 248 foot-pounds of torque. Coming in last place was the Cadillac ATS with 202 horsepower and 190 foot-pounds of torque.

Interior Features

The MKZ has more front leg, shoulder, and hip room than both of its competitors. U.S. News & World Report says “The Cadillac ATS is a comfortable ride but has cramped second row seats.”Car reviewers also commented that  the Lexus ES-350 interior was spacious, it had fewer standard features than the 2012 model.

Technology

When you purchase a luxury vehicle you expect to get the latest and greatest technology.The MKZ has available My Lincoln Touch that allows you to stream music, audible turn-by-turn directions, change climate control, and more. U.S. News & World Report writes that the Lexus’ infotainment system Enform on the ES-350 is too clunky.The Cadillac ATS has the available Cue system, however there is no navigation available for this model.

Safety

So how do they stack up in safety?  According to the Insurance Institute The 2013 Lincoln is a TOP Safety Pick for midsize luxury vehicles. The 2013 Lexus ES-350 also made the list but not in the plus category and the Cadillac ATS wasn’t tested by the IIHS.
