Planet Lincoln, The Woodlands Rotarians work with STOP HUNGER NOW

stop hunger nowPlanet Lincoln in Spring enjoyed working with Rotary Club of The Woodlands. The weekly meeting did was a bit different.  The Woodland Rotarians came together and gave their time to support the organization STOP HUNGER NOW.  Together, we packaged meals through a fun, hands-on assembly line process.  When it was all said and done, nearly 10,000 meals had been assembled.

Each dehydrated meal is highly nutritious and comprises of rice, soy, vegetables, flavoring and essential vitamins and minerals.  Each care package provides a reasonable serving for six and can be transport, stored and distributed to those in need.

STOP HUNGER NOW has been a significant contributor in both U.S. and international disaster response efforts. The charity has provided over 5 million meals and 400 tons of aid to support the victims of the Haiti earthquake in 2010 and nearly 200,000 meals to victims of Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

It was a wonderful day for the Rotary Club of The Woodlands!  It is an honor for Planet Lincoln on SB I-45 to be part of this club and support its efforts in our community.
