Lincoln Introduces Intelligent CCD Suspension

2014 Lincoln MKZ

Even if cared for properly, your car is still at risk for damage anytime you pull out onto the road. Other drivers, weather conditions or even road conditions can cause damage to your car. As part of their commitment to providing a top-notch luxury car experience, Lincoln is doing their part to reduce one of these threats by introducing an all-new intelligent suspension system on their 2014 MKZ.

This suspension system is designed to reduce the risk of damage caused by potholes, uneven roads or decrepit infrastructure. Standard on the 2014 MKZ, the continuously controlled damping (CCD) suspension system provides the vehicle with some defense against expensive wheel and tire repair caused by structural road issues. As part of the Lincoln Drive Control System, the CCD system joins several other dynamic drivings enhancements that provide the driver with a world class driving experience.

The CCD system reads nearly 50 road inputs in two milliseconds, the data from which are used to quickly adjust the shocks. When a pothole is sensed, the proprietary CCD algorithm ┬ádampens the shocks to minimize damage. With over $5 billion a year spent by American drivers towards pothole damage, Lincoln’s CCD suspension system is a necessary addition to the Lincoln luxury lineup.

Lincoln takes luxury very serious and is always adding improvements to their elegant line of vehicles.
